Tommy Murphy
Assistant Coach

Tommy Murphy joined the University of Mary Washington baseball program as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in the summer of 2022.

Murphy comes to Mary Washington after spending two years at Hanover College serving as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In the spring of 2022, Murphy helped guide the Panthers to their first conference tournament appearance since 2005.

In the summer of 2022, Murphy served as the assistant coach for the Amsterdam Mohawks (NY), Champions of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, a premier collegiate summer baseball league. Currently, Murphy also serves as the Assistant Baseball Coach for the 18U and Senior Ireland National Team.

Murphy Graduated from Otterbein University in 2020, where he served as a starter for the Cardinals. Additionally, he helped guide Otterbein to back-to-back Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, which earned the team a spots in the NCAA Regional.

The Early Childhood Education major was named to the All-OAC Academic team on two separate occasions, while also serving as a member of the Otterbein Athletic Mentorship Program. Prior to his time at Hanover, Murphy had worked closely with the Cleveland Indians in their Youth Baseball Development Department for seven years.


Adam Dofflemyer
Assistant Coach

Adam Dofflemyer joins UMW's staff in the fall of 2023 after a four-year career at Lynchburg from 2019-2022. In the spring of 2023, Dofflemyer was an assistant with the Spotswood High School baseball team. In the summer, he was named head coach for Valley Baseball Elite and also was the pitching coach for the Grottoes Cardinals in the Rockingham County Baseball League -- a summer collegiate wood bat league. Dofflemyer has also spent time as a camp coordinator for Lynchburg and Spotswood High School.

As a student-athlete, Dofflemyer appeared in 57 games for the Hornets with a 4.26 ERA in 61.1 innings, and had a 2:1 K:BB ratio.
